Join local artisan Andrea Weatherdon for a hands-on workshop, where you'll create your own Nova Scotia seashell art piece inspired by the intricate beauty of the coastline or the iconic Atlantic Lobster.

Indulge in a 2-night luxury stay for 2 at Shangri-La Cottages, overlooking picturesque Burntcoat Head Park, home to the highest recorded tides in the world. 

Relax under the stars in a private hot tub witnessing the mesmerizing ebb and flow of the tides. Then, wake up to the soothing sound of waves crashing against the rugged coastline.



This package is only offered in High Tide (Cottage #1), Low Tide (Cottage #2), Lighthouse Keeper (Cottage #3) & Mud Piddock (Cottage #4 *NO HOTUB*).

Local Artisan Workshop with Andrea Weatherdon for two guests:

Unleash your creativity in a hands-on workshop led by local woodworker and artist Andrea Weatherdon, owner of Pine Knots andPretty Things. All guests will gather in the Sandstone cottage to craft your own art piece, inspired by one of Andrea's most beloved pieces. With expert guidance, each guest will design a unique piece depicting the intricate beauty of Nova Scotia's 13,000+ kilometer long coastline or the Maritime's favorite crustacean, the Atlantic Lobster!


Pre-nailed, stained and sealed wood will be provided. Pick out and arrange your favourite seashells to customize and finish your beautiful string art design.



How To Book

Enter one of the weekends above. Select the cottage you would like to book, enter the number of guests/pets, and click "Continue".

Fill Out Contact Info

Click on “Add On: Crafted Coastal Retreat". Fill out your contact information, read and agree to our Policies, and click “Continue”. Please let us know at the time of booking by making a note in the “Notes” section regarding each of your design choices, "Nova Scotia" or "Lobster".

Pay Deposit

On the last page, you will need to pay a 25% deposit to guarantee your reservation. Once payment is received, you will receive a confirmation email.

Good To Know

Friday: 


  • Nicholas & Asrar will meet you at the check-in office between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm to take the remainder of your payment and get you checked into your cottage.

Saturday: 


  • Wake up and enjoy the provided ground coffee or tea.
  • Enjoy the morning by exploring Burntcoat, the Noel Shore, and surrounding areas or by relaxing in your cottage and hot tub. 
  • At 1:00 PM we will all gather in the Sandstone cottage, where everyone will create their own seashell art piece! Workspaces will be set up and Andrea will have all of the tools and shells set out and will guide everyone through the process and will assist when needed. At the end, you will have a beautiful art piece to take home and hang up or to gift.

Sunday:


  • Wake up and enjoy the provided ground coffee or tea.
  • No need to take the linens off the bed or take the gabage out.
  • Check-out is at 11:00 am.

Cancellation Policy


  • Guests must give 15 days notice of any change or cancellation before the check-in date by emailing Reservations@Shangri-LaCottages.com. We will refund the initial 25% deposit to the payment source used to guarantee the reservation minus a $50.00 administration fee.

  • If you cancel or change your reservation less than 15 days before the check-in date, the payment source used to guarantee the reservation will be charged for the remainder of the balance owed in the original reservation.

  • If you must cancel or change your reservation for any reason outside of our control (including but not limited to illness, injury, emergencies, travel restrictions, travel advisories, inclement weather, transportation cancellations, transportation delays, etc.), our Cancellation Policy still applies.

Check-In Time


Check-in is between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm; if you require a late check-in, you must notify us in writing at the time of booking. Check-out is at 11:00 am.
